We are thrilled to announce the successful recipients for the second round of the Grants program. There are a total of 19 successful applicants, with 20 projects funded.

Altona Miniature Railway	Miniature Train Passenger Carriages Providing a new passenger carriage to their existing set up, which will increase capacity and cater for the community needs on community open days.	$10,000.00
Association Islamic Dakwah in Australia (Victoria) (AIDA)	Promoting Community Inclusion Through Participation Increasing participation for all community members by setting up a space with table tennis tables where Indonesian and other communities can be involved in social games and come together over refreshments to interact and improve community connectedness and inclusion.	$5,687.00
GenZine	Gen-Generator Will bring people together to generate ideas, conversation and connections, working together toward gender equity in Melbourne’s West. There will be a series of youth led events and co-design of a gender equity art and discussion magazine.	$9,955.00
Melbourne City Soccer Club	Junior Female Football Initiative Providing a dedicated and long lasting opportunity for junior female football participants to play and train in a safe and supportive environment in Hobsons Bay and deliver a junior tournament in 2023.	$9,500.00
Rotary Club of Altona City	Wynspeak Heat - Youth Public Speaking Competition Providing high school students the opportunity to grow their self-confidence, build their creativity, critical thinking and leadership skills via public speaking opportunities and competitions, as well as to improve poise and professionalism.	$2,200.00
U3A Altona	Be Connected - Online Supporting volunteer tutors to access a wide variety of information, both online and through presentations by installing new equipment that will enable U3A to run classes and sessions via Zoom - including hybrid sessions.	$3,940.00
West Footscray Neighbourhood House	Maribyrnong Toy Library and Casa Bonita Cultural Family Events A series of artist facilitated workshops open to local families in 2023 that will connect children and their families with culture and diversity through events and child friendly activities.	$10,000.00

Africause	African Arts and Culture Festival An event that celebrates all things wonderful about the African-Australian community in Melbourne, featuring African focussed entertainment including drumming, music, dance and costumes, with local artists, entertainers and food provider.	$14,670.00
Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre	Nurtured by Nature: Wetlands and Mental Health An Open Day in October 2023 for the annual World Mental Health Day that will include inspirational speakers, meditative walks in the wetlands, citizen science activities, book readings and participatory activities for children, music, art and circus.	$20,000.00
Rotary Club of Williamstown Inc	Halloween Party in the Park A free event that is designed to follow on from the normal trick or treat by providing a gathering place for kids & parents of all backgrounds to meet, eat and participate in Halloween games and activities including rides, magicians and novelty games.	$12,436.00
VU Music Agency	Songlines x VU First Nations Music Series A free community series showcasing First Nations music, dance and song and connecting communities in the west. Four bi-monthly events will run across 2023 in Yarraville.	$20,000.00
Western Bulldogs Community Foundation	Bulldogs Youth Expo A large scale expo, that invites various community, education, mental health, youth and employment organisations to run stalls, providing information, skills and new opportunities to young people from the Western suburbs of Melbourne.	$10,000.00
Western Edge Youth Arts	Stronger Together - Edge to Edge Hobsons Bay Supporting artists from the Maribyrnong community to creatively lead and devise a theatrical performance with young participants over a 19 week period, these workshops are open to any young person in Maribyrnong aged 13-30.	$20,000.00

Yarra Riverkeeper Association	The Making of a Maribyrnong Riverkeeper Association Delivering a series of events aimed to co-design the Maribyrnong Riverkeeper Strategy, set up a Maribyrnong Riverkeeper website and create a short film about the river - culminating in a launch event at Footscray Community Arts Centre.	$20,000.00

Friends of Newport Lakes	Supporting the Future of the Newport Lakes Providing water quality monitoring equipment and training volunteers to be able to report water quality to the community, and running a native flowering native planting programme to support native bee populations and improve biodiversity.	$22,008.00
L2R Dance	L2R's Capital Works and Blocky Party 2023 Optimising L2R Dance’s head quarters, and delivering a free, live, creative community celebration of authentic, Australian contemporary street dance/hip hop culture featuring dance battles and performances, MCs and live music, across the Footscray Community Arts Centre grounds in April 2023.	$45,000.00
Maribyrnong Edible Garden	Maribyrnong Edible Garden Orchard upgrade project Protecting the existing fruit orchid within the community garden from birds, bugs and possums by installing an orchard netting structure and kit to protect the orchard as well as tools, fertiliser and soil for ongoing maintenance of the fruit orchard.	$20,068.00
Williamstown Community and Education Centre	Computers for a new Community House Establishing a fully-functional computer room, including computers and desks to support adult learning and skill development at the Altona North Community House.	$23,810.00
