South Kingsville Community Centre opens
Local residents can now enjoy a new look South Kingsville Community Centre after it underwent a million-dollar transformation, thanks to support from the West Gate Neighbourhood Fund.
The fund contributed close to $500,000 towards works that included construction of a new external entry, and upgrades to the hall, lobby, conference room and childcare facilities.
Community members were able to see the improvements for themselves at the recently held open day, also enjoying market stalls while reptiles, a magician and Transformers kept children entertained.
South Kingsville Community Centre Manager Sandra Wilkinson said the upgraded centre will help to bring the community together.
“The renovations to our centre have made a dramatic difference, providing more comfort, room and enjoyment.
By improving and upgrading the building, inside and out, the renovations have created a better place for gatherings, social activities, and a space to be enjoyed by all.
We have already seen an increase in regular community groups at the centre, which is excellent.” she said.
