The level crossing at Main Road, St Albans was removed by lowering the rail line below the road.
The level crossing was removed at the same time as the crossing at Furlong Road, and new stations at Ginifer and St Albans were built as part of the project.
Walking and cycling paths were also built, running parallel to the rail line.
Timeline
The level crossings at Main Road and Furlong Road were removed and the new Ginifer and St Albans stations opened in 2016.
