Regional Victorians on the network’s busiest lines will benefit from Melbourne Airport Rail, with Ballarat, Geelong, and Bendigo passengers having direct connections from Sunshine Station to Melbourne Airport trains in the future.
Passengers from the state’s south-east will benefit from the Gippsland Line connection to the Metro Tunnel, and will be able to connect to Melbourne Airport trains via an interchange along the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines.
This will also make access to regional cities easier for interstate and international visitors, helping to drive tourism in regional Victoria for years to come.
As well as connecting people to and from the airport, Melbourne Airport Rail will connect passengers to Melbourne’s key health, research and education, development, employment and tourism precincts.
