The SRL Community Projects Fund provides local community groups and councils the opportunity to deliver new initiatives and projects along the SRL East corridor – delivering benefits to communities from Cheltenham to Box Hill well before trains start running.
Following two successful rounds, the SRL Community Projects Funds will cease at the completion of the current round.
SRL Community Projects Fund Round 2
Applications for round 2 grants closed in late 2025. 113 projects have been funded, supporting communities along the SRL East corridor.
Projects supported by the fund include local festivals and events, sports club open days and participation programs, sustainability and environmental programs, and community centre and sports club facility upgrades.
Round 1 grant recipients
Projects supported in the first round of funding in 2022 included new and updated community gardens, concerts and cultural festivals, sport equipment and updated club facilities, and local events.
