The new station at Clayton will be located north of Carinish Road and the existing Clayton Metro station. The underground SRL station will have 2 levels and be fully accessible for all passengers via lifts and escalators.
Passengers will be able to easily interchange between the new SRL station and the existing Clayton Station via an elevated walkway.
The station will include buildings for ticketing and customer facilities, potential retail spaces, extensive undercover bike parking, as well as places for operational equipment and emergency and safety infrastructure.
Clayton will become a transport super hub, connecting regional Victorians on the Gippsland corridor to the loop and it will be one of Melbourne's busiest metropolitan stations, with trains travelling in 4 different directions.
