The SRL station will provide students, workers and visitors with a direct train connection for the first time to Melbourne’s largest employment and innovation hub outside of the CBD.
The station will boost economic growth, employment and housing and help attract global industry leaders. Construction is underway, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains taking passengers in 2035.

The new station at Monash will include 2 entrances, with a northern entrance providing a connection to the station plaza and new bus interchange, and a southern entrance situated just north of Normanby Road to access Monash University via an upgraded signalised intersection. This location will connect passengers not only to the university but to jobs, homes and community areas in the wider Monash precinct.
The station will include buildings for ticketing and customer facilities, potential retail spaces, extensive undercover bike parking, as well as places for operational equipment and emergency and safety infrastructure.
The new station platform will sit around 20m below ground level and be accessible by lifts and escalators.
