University of Melbourne, meet Parkville Station Opening later this year, Parkville Station will make it possible to catch a train to the University of Melbourne for the first time in its 172 year history.
Catch the train to class
If you’re travelling on the Cranbourne, Pakenham or Sunbury lines, you’ll travel through the new Metro Tunnel and get off at Parkville Station If you’re travelling on the Williamstown or Werribee lines, you can change to the Sunbury Line at Footscray Station If you’re travelling on the Frankston Line, you can change to the Cranbourne or Pakenham lines at Caulfield or Malvern stations. If you’re travelling on any of Melbourne’s other train lines, you can change at Flinders Street or Melbourne Central stations to the Sunbury Line to get to Parkville Station
A new train station on the University of Melbourne’s doorstep
Parkville Station’s main entrance on Grattan Street is a 5 minute walk from South Lawn and Baillieu Library. An entrance on the corner of Grattan Street and Royal Parade connects you with the west side of campus, including the Medical and Kenneth Myer buildings. Are you a med student doing a hospital rotation? Parkville Station has entrances outside the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
