About the Shepparton Line Upgrade

The Shepparton Line Upgrade will deliver more frequent and reliable journeys on modern VLocity trains. This project is being delivered in 3 stages.

Stage 1 complete

10 extra train services a week between Melbourne and Shepparton
a stabling upgrade at Shepparton Station
29 extra coaches between Shepparton and Seymour.

Stage 2 complete

station upgrades including platform extensions for longer VLocity trains at Mooroopna, Murchison East and Nagambie
a crossing loop extension near Murchison East to allow more trains to pass each other
59 level crossing upgrades between Donnybrook and Shepparton
stabling to house VLocity trains.

Stage 3 in progress

Next steps

ACCIONA Rail and KBR are working with Regional Rail Revival and V/Line to complete the Stage 3 of the project.
