Presented by Craft Victoria in collaboration with the Metro Tunnel Creative Program, 8 artists have reimagined discarded fragments from the Metro Tunnel archaeological digs – the largest archaeological digs in Victorian history – into contemporary objects.

From ceramic amphorae to intimate pieces of jewellery, furniture and lighting, these new works interpret the built history of our city while simultaneously looking toward its future.

Unearthed was at Craft Victoria, Watson Place (off Flinders Lane) from 1-31 October 2022. View the exhibition items for sale. You can learn more about the exhibition by visiting Craft Victoria.

A series of behind-the-scenes images of the artists by photographer Henry Trumble was also presented in the Franklin Street frames in late September 2022.
